Porsche will resume production of its 911 again from Monday, March 3, following the recent explosion at its main factory in Zuffenhausen.
Production was stopped last Monday following a deflagration that occurred in the paint shop, in which a PVC fusion oven was badly damaged.
The causes of the accident have now been identified by external experts. It was found that the gas escape was due to a technical defect. However, an examination of the other ovens has shown that they are in working order and fully functional.
The manufacturer has also said it will be possible to clear the production backlog of 800 vehicles that arose during this week through the course of the year.
