The new Tiguan will take its design cues from VW's Concept A show car as well as styling elements of its Touareg big brother.
It will have a rakish stance and a chunky overall look.
The Tiguan will also have typical VW design features such as an H-shaped chrome grille. At the rear the taillights are expected to be similar to those on the Touareg and it is likely to get a split tailgate.
According to Auto Express the Tiguan's platform is derived from the current Golf, with toughened suspension, a raised ride height and a four-wheel-drive system that is developed from VW's 4MOTION set-up.
Power will come from a choise of TSI and FSI petrol units. Naturally there will be turbodiesel models too.
