'1.25 million people killed in crashes annually' - 7 top road safety tips

Cape Town - The World Health Organisation (WHO) reports that 1.25-million people are killed each year as a result of road traffic crashes. 

Driving isn't just about hopping into a vehicle and heading off on the road, it's also about anticipating actions and being courteous.

Something as simple as being courteous could help avoid road rage incidents sparked by unruly drivers affecting innocent motorists and bystanders.

The Road Traffic Management Corporation annual road death statistics  show that 14 071 people were killed on South African roads last year, a 9% increase on the 2015 figure of 12944.
