Gotcha! Hot Clio aims at GTI

The new Clio Renaultsport was unveiled at last month's Frankfurt Motor Show in concept guise, and the production version will go on be unleashed early in 2006.

Under its bonnet will be a 2-litre engine with a power output of 147 kW positioning the car in Golf GTI territory.

However, the Clio RS will be lighter than the GTI and its 0-100 km/h acceleration will be below seven seconds.

Styling wise the production model won't differ much from the concept version.
