Yes, even family wheels can be scorchers and look hot! In the first half of 2006 Audi, BMW and Mercedes will launch hot station wagon derivatives.
Audi is currently testing its S6 Avant in northern Sweden where it is undergoing cold-climate testing.
When it goes into production it will come with a 5.2-litre V10 kicking out about 325 kW. However, an RS6 model with a +- 400 kW 5.5-litre engine is also on the cards.
It is expected that Audi will unveil the S6 in station wagon and sedan guise at the Geneva Motor Show in 2006.
Mercedes is readying its new E36 AMG estate which could also be launched at the Geneva show.
Under the Bonnet of the E63 AMG will be Merc's new 6.3-litre V8 engine with an output of 375 kW.
Our spy photos of this wagon sizzler also show the E-Class range's upcoming facelift - it will get a redesigned front bumper and grille.
Last but not least, BMW is gearing up to introduce the Touring derivative of its potent M5. This 373 kW wagon will be launched at the Geneva motor show.
