LOCK IT: A rear differential lock is now standard on Scorpio bakkies sold in SA.
Mahindra’s single and double-cab Scorpio Pik Ups now have the security of a locking rear differential added on their standard specification.
Mahindra SA's CEO Ashok Thakur said: “We've included a speed-sensing Eaton’s mechanical locking rear differential on all Scorpio bakkie models to enhance the on and off-road capabilities of these tough and durable vehicles.”
The Eaton M-Locker provides full axle lock-up when necessary, automatically disengages at more than 20km/h and is fully compatible with the bakkies' standard anti-lock brakes.
“This is the second added-value initiative to be introduced by Mahindra in recent months,” Thakur added. The other is a three-year or 60 000km service plan.
Scorpio bakkie owners already have a three-year or 100 000km warranty, aircon, power windows and central locking.
Scorpio prices range from R169 400 for the single cab 4x2 to R242 900 for the double cab 4x4.
