SAO PAULO, Brazil - A car-safety assessment agency says that some top-selling cars in Latin America show a high risk of "life-threatening injuries".
The Uruguan Latin New Car Assessment Programme says in a report that tests conducted on vehicles produced by four automakers in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico are unsafe to drive.
'POOR INTEGRITY'
The report says vehicles made by General Motors, Fiat, Ford and Nissan were tested.
The report revealed "poor structural integrity" of certain vehicles and that a lack of air bags endangered the lives of drivers in Latin America.
The automakers whose vehicles were tested were not available to comment.
