Reports that Suzuki's mid-sized sedan will be shelved have been refuted. The production version of the Kizashi concept will debut at the New York motor show.
News agency Reuters on Tuesday cited Japan's Nikkei business daily in saying that plans for a production version of the Kizashi sedan concept have been halted.
However, US Suzuki representative Jeff Holland told Automotive News that the manufacturer plans to unveil the sedan in April.
Several versions of the Kizashi concept were shown at motor shows throughout 2008. The Kizashi 3 concept, on which the sedan will be based, was shown at the 2008 New York motor show.
Spy shots of the sedan under development have also been captured. The production model will reportedly feature V6 power for its flagship model.
