Smart Times, held from August 4-7, 2011 in the Italian seaside town of Riccione, saw 1500 fans of the Merc mini from 22 countries gather for the largest event of its kind.
The fans used the time to connect with designers, tuners and experts, as well as sharing their passion for the little cars. One group of Smart drivers drove 2286km across Europe to attend the event.
FERRARI AND RACETRACKS
Fans who made the journey were kept entertained with beach volleyball on the Riccione shore, a visit to Aquafan, Europe's largest waterpark, a browse around the annual Smart flea-market and a lap ofMisano, one of Italy's famous racetracks.
A special highlight was an excursion entitled "Smart meets Museo Ferrari", while the traditional Smart Times parade saw more than 800 of the cars drive through the streets of Riccione.
It was the first time for 10 years that Smart Times was held outside Austria; the 2012 instalment will be hosted in Belgium.
