Sky cops pull over fleeing panties

2012-05-02 13:26

Police sent up a helicopter to rein in a Gauteng biker and his pillion passenger, the bike's plate covered by a pair of panties, who were out-running chasing cops.

The mind boggles: Was his passenger female? Was it her underwear over the number plate? Was she still partly wearing them? Were the panties put in place before they set off or during the chase and, if the latter, how?

It's a court case not to be missed...

CHOPPER ON THE CASE

The alleged speeding incident, reported in The Star, happened on Workers' Day morning on the N17 in Gauteng; when the bike reached 200km/h the cops decided they couldn't stay with the fleeing panties and called in a chopper and the rider eventually pulled over at the freeway exit near Rand Airport when he realised he couldn't outrun the police helicopter cruising above.

Ekurhuleni metro police spokesman Wilfred Kgasago said the rider was expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court on Wednesday on a charge of defeating the ends of justice and reckless driving.
