Samsung builds SUV

accreditation
Renault Samsung Motors, one of Korea's smallest carmakers, has launched a sport utility vehicle, which is part of a $600m global development programme.

The Samsung QM5 shares its underpinnings with the Nissan Qashqai while the styling was done by Renault.

The QM5 goes on sale in Korea next month and will find its way to Europe early next year.

However, in Europe and other overseas markets, such as South Africa, it will be badged as the Renault Koleos.

Under the bonnet is a 110kW 2.0-litre turbodiesel engine while a 2.5-litre petrol unit is under development.
