The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the Olympics are expected to spill over to the UK’s personalised registrations auction this week where plates bearing the alphanumeric codes PR11 NCE and 2012 OG are up for grabs.
Hundreds of personalised registrations are expected to go under the hammer during the three-day Driver and Vehicle Licencing Agency (DVLA) event, starting June 7, 2012. Certain lots carry reserves up to £2000 (R25 720).
PR11 NCE and HA12 RRY are among those registrations expected to take top pound at the auction, particularly since the royally-linked 1 HRH plate was bought three years ago for £113 815 as “an investment”.
SOMETHING FOR THE SPORTS FANS
UK motorists wanting in on the London Olympics this year will have registrations such as 2012 OG, HU12 DLE, MEN 100M and RUN 100M. Swiming, boxing and gymnastic enthusiasts are also catered for with plates such as ASW 1M, BOX 835T and GYM 734M.
FU11 HAM is also suggested as a possible registration for a keen Fulham fan.
