According to TATA this vehicle will be specifically designed for the South African market.

The company says the focus of this budget vehicle will be "aimed aggressively towards affordability, reliability and driving comfort".

TATA's COO in South Africa, Phonnie Cilliers, said that the vehicle will feature a 1.4 liter fuel injected engine and will cost R59 990.

"With this exciting announcement, we give a whole new meaning to affordable motoring in South Africa," says Cilliers.

"TATA has done extensive research in the South African vehicle market to understand the specific needs of the SA driving public and with this vehicle, we will aim to satisfy this need."

TATA, through its distributor Accordian Investments, recently celebrated the sale of their 20 000th vehicle in only 18 months in the South African market.

TATA claims that it now has 2.2% of market share.
