MUNICH, Germany - A woodland critter escaped unharmed after a supercar swerved to avoid it, the same could not be said for the now wrecked R1-million Ferrari.
According to the DailyMail, Joerg Daecher was driving home in his Ferrari Testarossa in Germany when he spotted a hedgehog in his headlights.
Daecher swerved to avoid hitting the animal but his Ferrari slid on the wet ground and smashed into a crash barrier near Eschershausen in Lower Saxony. The hedgehog got away unscathed but Daecher was left with a R380000 repair bill following their encounter.
The damage pales in comparision to the R31-million supercar pile-up in Japan 2011. The smash involved eight Ferraris, three Mercedes, a Lamborghini and a Nissan Skyline travelling in convoy. A Toyota Prius was also damaged in the crash.
The sports cars crashed on the Chugoku Expressway in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
