Nissan plans Murano drop-top

Nissan officials have confirmed that the carmaker will introduce a convertible version of its Murano SUV.

Automotive News reports that the SUV will be marketed as a two-door model with a canvas roof. It will likely be sold in international markets from 2011.

The Murano convertible is reportedly not intended to be a volume seller, but rather a brand builder for the Japanese marquee. Its oddball styling almost certain to have a polarising effect on the Nissan loyal…
