New V12 for baby Rolls

Rolls-Royce has confirmed more details about the production version of the 200EX concept, which was recently revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.

Codenamed RR4, which is destined to become the “baby Rolls”, the newcomer it will be powered by a new 6.6-litre turbocharged V12 engine. This engine, which will develop 373kW, will only be used by Rolls-Royce models.

It will be mated up to a new eight-speed automatic ZF gearbox. The company claims that this new drivetrain will greatly improve fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

The new model will make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September before going on sale in early 2010.
