Nissan has unveiled an all-new sedan - but with a familiar name - at the eighth Chinese International Automobile Exhibition.
The latest Nissan Sunny will be built at China’s Dongfeng plant in Guangzhou and go on sale in that country in January 2011 to kick-start a worldwide launch
The Sunny will have a 1.5-litre engine with dual injectors and a new-generation Xtronic CV transmission. No performance figures have been provided.
The car will ride on Macpherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear, a combination that, according to Nissan, allows agile and stable driving at low and high speeds.
The Sunny will be rolled out in 170 countries but under a variety of badges, depending on the market.
"The Sunny is under study for South Africa," Nissan SA told Wheels24. Should it be launched here it will likely replace, but not rename, the popularTiida in the local line-up.
