More changes for BMW 3 Series

BMW's 3 Series range continues to ring in the changes; this time the Coupe and Convertible models receive subtle facelifts.

The 3 Series sedan was the first to be subjected to a raft of changes in 2009 and the more stylised, two-door versions are next in line.

But as with the sedan, BMW says the latest changes to its Coupe and Convertible models are about more than what simply meets the eye.

Sure enough - the view of the front, rear and side of the cars have been tweaked to give the cars a "sleeker … more dynamic … silhouette".

The cars also receive redesigned headlights, new options for exterior paintwork and leather upholstery, and new functions from BMW's ConnectedDrive. There will be greater focus, the manufacturer says, on integration of the mobile telephone and other entertainment devices and the car's iDrive system.

Engines in the line-up do not continue unaltered, either. It may be of little consequence to South African buyers, but all 3 Series engines are now Euro 5 compliant. However, the local engine offering is not expected to change when the car arrives here in mid-2010.
