The special edition car is available in black or matte black only and 777 units will be made available globally. Each car will be identified by a badge on the cover of the cubby.
The black exterior is complemented inside the cabin by black leather and alcantara upholstery. Even the centre console, dashboard and door trim are finished in black, while alcantara covers the steering wheel, gear and handbrake levers and the roof lining.
The mid-engined sports car's chassis is lower by 10 mm and Porsche's Active Suspension Management (PASM) handles the car's dynamic abilities. Sport mode can be activated with the touch of a button. 19-inch alloys keep the car in contact with the road surface.
Standard equipment on this Cayman S Porsche Design Edition 1 includes a briefcase containing a Flat Six Chronograph, pocket knife, a pair of sunglasses, a pen and a keyring. Everything (even the knife's blade) is finished in black.
The car will be launched in Germany in November and the first local units are expected early in 2008.
