Man held for stadium parking spat

A man was arrested at Soccer City on Sunday after parking his car in a prohibited zone without a permit, Johannesburg Metro police said.

He had parked his vehicle at the corner of Nasrec and Showground roads, said Senior Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.

"The officers on duty instructed him three times to remove his blue Ford car from the area which he refused to do and was arrested."

The man will appear in Booysens Magistrate's court on Monday.

"Fans are requested not to drive into the car free zone which have been established around the stadiums," said Minnaar.
