Joy-riding teens steal bus

HONG KONG, China - Two boys, aged 12 and 14, have been arrested for driving off with a double-decker bus.

They were spotted by a bus company employee as they began to manoeuvre the bus from a parking bay around 2am on Workers' Day.

Police said the worker managed to persuade the boys to stop.

ALL-ACCESS KEY

The boys, called Wong and Ng, were released on bail after being charged with taking a vehicle without authority and driving without a licence. Wong was also charged with driving without insurance.

The bus company was investigating how the boys managed to get on board the bus and drive it out of the station. It is believed they may have used an all-access key which operates most buses in the fleet.

In 2007, two 16-year-olds were ordered to do community service and placed on probation after stealing an all-access key and using it take several buses on a joy-riding spree - but they managed to hit a street light.
