Jaguar will launch its most powerful production car yet, the all-new XKR-S, at the Geneva Motor Show on March 1.
Jaguars hopes the all-new model will broaden the appeal of its XK range as well as being more competitive in the luxury GT class.
The XKR-S sports a tweaked V8 supercharged engine, overhauled suspension and a new aerodynamically-driven design.
The V8 engine produces 404.5kW and 680Nm of torque enough rocket it from 0-100km/h in just 4.2 seconds. Apart from being Jaguar’s quickest ever vehicle, the British carmaker has focused on low emissions with the new XKR-S emitting less than 300g/km CO2.
50 YEARS OF E-TYPE
Bespoke suspension changes to the front and rear offer ultimate precision, control and driver appeal, while a reprogrammed Adaptive Dynamics system allows the enthusiastic driver to explore the edges of the handling envelope.
Alongside the new XKR-S, Jaguar will be marking the 50th anniversary of its E-Type with the first in a series of celebrations that take place during 2011.
Jaguar will be hosting E-Type drives at the Parc des Eaux Vives in Geneva, where the original car was launched by the marque’s founder Sir William Lyons half a century ago.
