Jaguar's C-X16 concept will make its global debut at the Frankfurt auto show on September 13, 2011.
Described as a precursor to future Jaguar sports cars, it aims is to establish design, vehicle dynamics and technology benchmarks, the automaker said.
The car's styling is the work of a team headed by Jaguar design director Ian Callum and responsible for stunners such as the XK, XF and XJ.
'BOLD, AMBITIOUS'
Callum said of the latest concept: "Great Jaguars have always been beautiful, innovative and have looked firmly to the future. The finished C-X16 concept has the potential to do these things while retaining the ability to surprise, excite and invigorate."
Adrian Hallmark, the global brand director for Jaguar Cars, added: "Jaguar has set in place bold, ambitious plans. This production concept demonstrates the depth of design and engineering ability we have within Jaguar to make these plans come to life."
