Inflation hits Nürburgring prices

There are very few points of agreement in the world of motoring.

That Germany’s Nürburgring is the world’s greatest driving road is one of those rare truths, easily agreed upon by all motoring enthusiasts.

With mounting privatisation pressure, access to the affectionately named ‘green hell’ will become a touch more expensive next year.

The single lap ticket price escalates from R207 to R225. Accordingly, four laps of the world’s best 154-corner stretch of road will set you back R900.

If you do buy a four-lap package, the price includes some refreshments at the Eifeldorf Grüne Hollë restaurant and a Ring Werk museum pass.

For those petrolheads who worship the late Stefan Bellof and his ‘Ring lap record antics in Porsche’s 956 there are 15 and 25-lap packages, available at R2 926 and R4 431.

Wish to have as many turns as you like?

For a R12 700 season premium ticket the Nürburgring safety marshals will wave you through for as many laps as your car (and nerve) can take, provided the circuit has not been booked by an auto manufacturer for testing.
