Korean automaker Hyundai has been named the "most improved" automaker in an Auto Express '10 Years of Driver Power' special.
This comes after the Korean automaker achieved its highest ranking in a US survey.
From 300 000 surveys received over the last 10 years of the annual Driver Power survey, Hyundai went from being one of the worst-performing manufacturers to one of the five best for customer satisfaction.
i30 FOURTH IN TOP 50 CARS
Hyundai’s customer satisfaction rating rose by 8% in the last 10 years from 78% in 2002 to 86% in 2011. No other automaker made such a leap over the period.
This achievement was emphasised by the brand's rise up the "best manufacturer" chart from 28th in 2002 to fourth in 2011.
The Hyundai i30 was rated fourth in the Top 50 cars of the decade after it performed strongly in the reliability and satisfaction poll since its launch in 2007.
The vehicle was named the most satisfying car in Britain in the 2010 Driver Power survey.
'PLEASED AND PROUD'
Graham Hope, Auto Express' acting editor, was amazed by the Korean automaker's improvement over the 10 years and the magazine's readers responded positively to the brand.
“No brand has taken such a massive leap over the past decade as Hyundai," he said.
"Its range now is unrecognisable from 2002 and our readers regularly tell us that they are both pleased and proud to own a Hyundai," he said.
