Those spectacularly tall European cheese specialists – the Dutch – are receiving a special edition GTI as current production peters out in anticipation of the Golf VI.
Called the edition 240, architecture is standard Golf GTI and features bi-xenon headlights, Pioneer touch-screen infotainment and navigation with optional commemorative leather trim embellished with GTI 240 logos.
The GTI 240 is set to retail for €31 995, quite a bit cheaper than a GTI Edition 30 at €35 050. Logically power is up to a 240hp peak – hence the name – which equates to 176kW.
Only 300 GTI 240s will come to market in the lowlands, each with a specially numbered key.
