Ford has promised an update – and released the mandatory teaser image – for its Australia-sourced Territory SUV. But will the redesigned SUV be released in South Africa?
Although said to be based on the platform of the current Territory, the 2011 version will receive a stylish new appearance, gauging from the image released.
The new model will also sport a redesigned interior and a range of new features and gadgets that will allow it to catch up to the current array of tech-savvy SUVs. A big feature on the revised Territory's spec list may be an all-new turbodiesel engine.
Bob Graziano, president and CEO of Ford Australia, said: “The Ford Australia team is taking the Territory to an all-new level of performance, refinement and quality, and customers will definitely experience these advancements when they drive it."
South African hopefuls should prepare to be disappointed. FMCSA has confirmed the new Territory will "definitely not" be coming here in 2011. Ford's Everest, when it was launched in November, 2009, replaced Territory as the sole SUV in the FMCSA line-up.
