Ferrari in Europe wants to break a Guinness world record for the largest parade of Ferraris at a Prancing Horse event at Silverstone in England in September 2012.
The Ferrari Racing Days event at Silverstone on September 15 will set the scene for what is expected will be the largest parade of Ferraris – more than 600 cars have already registered for the event, the automaker said. Ferrari North Europe aims to collect 1000 registrations before the event.
RECORDS COME AND GONE
The record was first set at Silverstone in 2007 when 385 Ferraris took to the Silverstone track for that year's Racing Days, although the current record is 490 cars but the local Ferrari Owners' Club and fans of the Maranello-based brand from the UK and around the world will reportedly support the effort to re-set the record and will be treated to displays of Ferrari’s FXX and 599XX development cars on the track.
Fans will also be wowed by a display of historic Ferrari F1 cars and a packed schedule of races, among them the Ferrari Challenge Pirelli Trophye and the Ferrari Club Challenge.
