Yes, "F" is apparently for "fast". Lexus IS F to be launched at Detroit
Toyota's luxury division Lexus says that its new performance range of vehicles will bear "F" badges, and will make their first showing at the 2007 Detroit Motor Show.
The new range is being pitched as a competitor for Mercedes C55AMG, Audi RS4 and BMW M3.
The first "F" model to break cover will be the Lexus IS-F, a high-powered version of the existing IS sportsedan.
According to Lexus there will also be a sizzling concept car at Detroit which will bear the "F" too.
The IS-F will feature sporty styling and a substantial boost in power from a V8 engine. According to insiders the expected power output is about 315kW.
