Johannesburg - A 46-year-old woman driver was arrested in Johannesburg on Wednesday evening after nearly ramming into and insulting a traffic officer, metro police said.
She was allegedly driving recklessly, was drunk, talking on her cellphone and refused to stop for metro police when they tried to pull her over near the Empire Road offramp on the N1, Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said.
"Three female officers were standing in front of her car, but she nearly rammed into a patrol car and almost hit an officer. She also swore at the officer by using the k-word."
Police had to shoot out the car's tyre to get the woman to stop.
She will face charges of drunken driving, reckless driving, resisting arrest, crimen injuria, attempted murder and talking on a cellphone while behind the wheel of a car.
