The deadly 2008 Viper SRT-10 model will kick out 447kW of pure power.
Production of the Viper will commence during mid-2008.
Maximum torque is reached at 760 Nm where it was 645 Nm with the previous model.
With the new power under the bonnet and a new braking system, the Viper can now brake from 100km/h to a stop in less than 30m.
The extra power and improvements on the car has been achieved through several changes to the aluminium V10 engine. The cylinder heads have been bored out to produce a 8,4-litre monster making it reach 0 - 100kmn/h in just under 4 seconds.
A new clutch has been fitted to the car, which has been made smaller in diameter to match the modifictaions on the engine. The twin-disc design handles the torque with reduced pedal effort while reducing rotating inertia. It works in conjunction with the new Tremec six-speed manual with a wider range of ratios, improved synchros and reduced shift-knob travel.
The body of the car rests on 18-inch wheels in the front and are slightly larger at the rear.
Not much has been changed to the Viper's exterior styling, although the front end is much more defined. It has a redesigned hood with a larger scoop for better induction and aggressive-looking vents for improved cooling.
Previously, Vipers were only available with a basic-black interior. Although the current Viper has a more modern feel, the '08 Viper will have five different interior colours to choose from. There will also be a choice of bezel finishes, along with other customized options to suit the owner.
