Charity auction at Old Car Show

The annual George Old Car Show, hosted by the Southern Cape Old Car Club since 1997, will feature more than 900 classic, hot rod and modified vehicles and is expected to attract thousands of visitors from across South Africa.

The theme for the 2012 show will be convertibles and a highlight will be a classic-car charity auction. In 2011 the event raised more than R80 000 for the Reach for a Dream charity and the Southern Cape Old Car Club which distributed funds to local charities in George, Western Cape.

Going under the hammer will be classics such as a 1968 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow, 1932 Chevrolet Phaeton, three 1965 Ford Mustangs,  a 1970 Karmann Ghia and a 1958 Triumph TR3A.

The show run over February 11/12 at the PW Botha College on York Street, George.
