Three men suspected of using a remote-control device to jam vehicle door locks have been arrested in Rosebank, Johannesburg, police said on Thursday. They were found in possession of the device, several music CDs and a cellphone around 2pm on Wednesday, a police report said."The arrests came after a member of the public contacted the police about the suspicious movements of the suspects," the statement explained. "They were found in possession of goods suspected to have been stolen from vehicles."SYNDICATEPolice said the affected cars had not been identified so asked owners who have been robbed to come forward. However police would not say exactly where the arrests were made "to avoid scaring off anyone operating in a syndicate".Police were trying to establish whether the remote control the three were found with could have been used to jam cars' remote-operated locking systems. The three, aged 22 to 27, were expected to appear in the Hillbrow Magistrate's Court on January 27.
