Bosch enters satnav app fray

Bosch has launched a premium mobile satnav app for Apple users to take on leading satnav brands in the Apple App store.

The Bosch Navigation 1.5, the manufacturer says, will be the new mobile satnav of choice of Apple iPhone and iPad users, although it will only be available in the UK.

Key features include “Intermediate Destinations”, which allows users to make a quick detour en-route without affecting the original destination and the “Plus Routes” tool that offers real time suggestions of alternative routes during navigation that may offer time or distance savings.

SATNAV AS SOCIAL TOOL

“Driver Assistance” calculates the severity of upcoming bends in the road and suggests a speed to help drivers avoid unwanted surprises and “Eco Navigation” settings help plot a route that offers the best fuel efficiency.

Full integration with Facebook and Twitter means it’s easy to keep your friends updated with your experiences on the road and all of the key features of modern sat navs are included as standard.
