SAO PAULO, Brazil - Formula 1 veteran Rubens Barrichello will race in the 2012 American Indycar series now that his 19-year F1 career has come to a juddering halt.
Barrichello, who was dropped by Williams, will drive for KV Racing Technology with Tony Kanaan.
KVRT co-owner Kevin Kalkhoven said: "I was at Sebring when Rubens first got into an Indycar. The smile when he got out of it was a great moment and lasted for three days.

"Rubens ended up fastest at the end of the test, showing the speed of which he is capable and his experience in setting up a car. Teamed with Tony Kanaan, this is going to be an exciting and successful season for the drivers, the team and the fans."
Barrichello made his F1 debut in 1993, started 322 races, but won only 11 He was championship runner-up 2002 and 2004.
The opening Indycar race will be in St Petersburg, Florida, on March 25.
