Audi shows 300-kW Q5 beast

Considered something of a pilgrimage for VW fans, the Wörthersee Tour this year also features some notable Audi specimens.

The 28th Wörthersee Tour kicks off on Wednesday in Reifnitz, Austria, and Audi will, in its third year at the show, dedicate its latest outing to celebrating the company's centenary.

Although Audi's 20 car strong presence at the gathering is notable, this custom Q5 was created especially for the show.

Riding on 21-inch wheels with a seven-spoke design, a lower ride height (by 60 mm) and a track that is wider by 90 mm, the Q5 custom concept also shows off special Daytona Grey paintwork with red accents.

Q5 custom concept sources its power from a more potent version of Audi's supercharged 3.0 TFSI V6 engine with power increased from 245 kW to 300 kW between 6 000 and 7 000 r/min.

Peak torque of 500 Nm is available from 3 000 to 5 500 r/min, which allows this Q5 to accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds.

Top speed for this model is governed to 250 km/h.

Other cars on display include the A1 Sportback concept, TT RS roadster and coupe, R8 5.2 FSI, 100 Coupé S and A2.

The Wörthersee Tour 2009 runs from May 20 to 23.
