Audi has chosen to celebrate its recent win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans - the automaker's tenth win since 2000 - with a very special R8.
Called the R8 V8 Limited Edition, only 100 units of this GT-inspired model will be sold and only in coupe form. Sadly, this car is meant to the UK market only, but it’s still worth admiring the details.
The special edition R8 is distinguished by its titanium-look 19” five-arm double spoke alloy wheels with red brake calipers similar to that seen on the R8 GT Coupe. To finish the look, matching titanium-effect paintwork, exclusive to the model, is an option.
FEATURES LIST
The interior trim is finished in black with an popping red colour for contrast on the sides of the nappa leather seats and headrests, the stitching on the leather-covered flat-bottomed steering wheel and door inserts.
But its long list of standard features is probably one of this R8’s strongest points. Audi’s magnetic ride adaptive suspension system, satellite navigation, MMI, an interior light package, Bang and Olufsen audio system and Bluetooth preparation with integrated seat-belt microphones are standard.
The R8 V8 Limited Edition is also available with an optional Carbon Package that adds race-inspired carbon sigma sideblades, door mirrors, inlays and door sill trims. The material also frames the illuminated engine bay, visible through the rear window.
The familiar 4.2-litre V8 engine sprints to 100km/h in 4.6 seconds before powering on to a top speed of 301kph. Owners of these cars will get to test that top speed at the Silverstone Circuit where a bespoke Driving Experience advanced driving course has been set up for them. Lucky devils.

CRIMSON TIDE: The otherwise sombre black cabin is spiced up with bright red accents.
