13 supercars trashed in pile-up

SUPERCAR PILE-UP: It’s bad enough seeing a supercar wrecked on the road but seeing 13 destroyed should bring a tear to any car enthusiast's eye.

Tokyo - A Ferrari driver’s error of judgment has caused a huge crash involving 14 cars of the costly, very costly, variety.

Seven Ferraris, three Mercedes, a Lamborghini and a very unfortunate Toyota Prius crashed into each other in wet weather on a highway between Kyushu and Hiroshima in Japan while they were being driven by a group of car enthusiasts.

The pile-up was triggered when a Ferrari driver lost control while trying to overtake on a bend, hit the median barrier and caused the other vehicles to smash into each other.

CRINGE-WORTHY CRASH

Eleven people were treated for minor injuries but the damage to the vehicles was catastrophic, with many believed to have been wrecked.

Video of the aftermath shows the carnage of wrecked supercars, including several Ferrari F355 and F430 units, an F360 and what looks like an F512. It's not that clear from the video but we suspect a Mercedes Benz CL600, a Lamborghini Diablo and a Nissan Skyline were also involved... and of course the hapless Prius.

Watch the cringe worthy video below: Apologies for the clip being in Japanese.
