GWM extends warranties in SA

PEACE OF MIND: GWM hopes to instill buyer-confidence in its products with the addition of extended warranties and service plans for certain models in SA. Image: GWMSA

GWM South Africa has extended its vehicle warranties and introduced a service plan for some of its products.

GWM SA's Warren Olsen said: “Buying a new vehicle is a major financial commitment and everybody wants the reassurance that their manufacturer will be there for them should the unforeseen occur.

"Service plans enable the customer to breathe a little easier and scheduled services are likely to occur at the prescribed intervals.”

“The move to extend our warranties and introduce service plans shows GWM customers that we have the utmost faith in our vehicles, enough to make this investment, and that we are dedicated, more than ever, to giving our customers the after-sales support they rightly deserve.”

Going forward, GWM says, customers who purchase a new GWM (except for the Steed single-cab) will be covered by a five-year or 100 000km warranty (extended by two years). All Steed single-cabs will stay with the current three-year or 100 000km warranty.

A five-year or 45 000km service plan (which in most cases will simply mean 45 000km) will be standard with the GWM C20R compact hatch, the GWM M4 mini-SUV and GWM C30 sedan (the last two are still be be launched).

The still-to-be-launced GWM C50 sedan and GWM H6 SUV will be available with a five-year or 60 000km warranty.

Service plans will not apply to GWM Steed double or single-cabs units.
