The all-new Mercedes-Benz M-Class is only due to hit showrooms from the latter half of 2011, but we have early spy pics.
Next Merc ML spied in traffic
Although heavily disguised in these images, it seems the new ML will not be significantly longer or bigger than the current model. It may even be shorter, but is certain to lose a few kilograms, if only for the sake of efficiency.
Many of the changes to its exterior aren't visible from these images, but the body panels are all slightly different.
These are most visible at the rear tailgate, the side mirrors, roof rack, the higher rear window and the position of the door handles.
A similar choice of engines is expected to power the ML range, with petrol engines ranging from 3.5- to 6.2-litre variants. Along with more efficient 3.0- and 4.0-litre turbodiesel units, the ML is also expected to make use of hybrid technology from its launch.
