It might be covered with plastic and black tape, looking like an amoured vehicle, but our spy photos give the best look yet at the next BMW 7 Series.

An eagle-eyed Wheels24 reader, Niel Scott, snapped the 2009 BMW 7 Series in the Klein Karoo town of Oudtshoorn.
At first glance it seems as if the 7 won't grow much in size while BMW is ditching some of the car's radical styling.
Overall design for the next 7 Series, will be an evolution of the current model's styling but with cleaner lines. BMW will especially give attention to the car's boot design to make it look less bulky.
BMW will probably launch the next 7 Series at the 2008 Paris Motor Show or at the 2009 Detroit show.
Insiders say that the 7 Series will get a new platform with an internal code of F01.
However, the wheelbase will be longer to increase interior space.
Like the current model range there will be the usual array of V8 and V12 engines. A full production hybrid model may also be added.
