New M-Class special edition

accreditation
Mercedes-Benz is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its M-Class, having sold 850 000 units with the attractive special 'EDITION' model.

The specification includes 20-inch wheels, bi xenon headlamps and special bodywork highlights in a titanium-look as well as dark-tinted tail lights. The sporty, refined interior features two-tone all-leather appointments, sports instruments and stainless steel sports pedals.

The 'EDITION' can be ordered from Mercedes-Benz dealerships for delivery in March 2008, volumes limited to 100 units.

Distinguished features include the 20-inch light-alloy wheels shod with 265/45 R 20 V tyres. The light-alloy wheels have two options, a gleaming silver that provides an interesting contrast to the 'EDITION' design or the harmoniously blended darkened 'chrome shadow' finish.

Darkened housings for the bi-xenon headlamps with Active Light System and identically styled fog lamps with integral cornering light function lend the vehicle's front end an even more striking appearance.

The stylish front end features a special radiator grille and simulated stainless steel under-ride guard, both in titanium-look. Dark-tinted tail light clusters, a simulated stainless steel under-ride guard in titanium-look and twin-pipe exhaust system with separate chrome tailpipes adorn the rear of the M-Class 'EDITION'.

Special chrome trim elements on the door handles, rub strips, radiator grille and rear bumper add to the striking appearance of the M-Class 'EDITION'. This special model is available in obsidian black, iridium silver or calcite white.

Two-tone all-leather appointments in cashmere beige and black create an interesting contrast in the interior. The black roof lining, the sports instrument cluster and wood trim elements in 'anthracite poplar' further enhance the interior refinement.

Velour floor mats with an embroidered 'EDITION' logo fits snugly underneath the brushed stainless steel sports pedal and parking brake with rubber studs. Power-adjustable front seats and a superior interior lighting add to the superior levels of comfort.

The V6 entry-level unit in the ML320 CDI develops 165kW at and 510Nm of torque. The ML350 and the ML500 with the new 5.5-litre V8 unit brings the two petrol versions to the line-up with outputs of 200kW and 285kW of power with 350- and 530Nm of torque respectively.

Due to defined style guides, the Chrome package option and the Off-road styling package option, offered on the standard M-Class range, cannot be offered on this limited range. All other standard and optional extra features available to the M-Class range are applicable to this special 'EDITION'.
