This is the first time the BMW X6 mule has been seen and caught outside of Germany as it is undergoing testing in the US.
New BMW X6 coming in 2008 (AUTOMEDIA)
The first spy shots of the upcoming BMW X6, a crossover SUV, were taken late last year around BMW's Munich headquarters.
Even with camouflage, it's very obvious this SUV has a sloping coupe-like roofline, but it's well hidden by heavy camouflage.
We have no clue as to how the rear looks just yet, but the disguise makes it appear to have taillights similar to those found on the Z4. Originally the X6 was thought to be a Mercedes Benz CLS-fighter, but now it seems a little strange for a competitor to a 4-door coupe being a SUV-like vehicle.
Now all indications are pointing to Mercedes' R-class competitor instead.
The new X6 will be longer and lower than the new X5, but this crossover is expected to seat only four. But what the sporty X6 loses in seating, it will gain in performance.
Expect it to arrive sometime during the 2008 calendar year.
