BMW is to give its new 3-door 1 Series twin-turbo power

BMW is apparently planning to introduce an even hotter 1 Series model featuring its 3-litre twin-turbo engine.

It will be badged as the 135i and will be a real pocket rocket. Power output for BMW's twin-turbo engine is 225 kW at 5 800 r/min while torque is 400 Nm, which is available between 1 300 to 1 500 r/min.

The claimed 0-100 km/h figure the 335i Coupe is 5.5 seconds. This means that the 135i would probably be able to do the same sprint in about five seconds.

Apparently the 135i will only be available in the new three-door shape.

There is no indication yet of when production will kick off but it ies expected to break cover at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
