The standard Audi R8 is already the talk of the town, but now Audi is working on what could be an even more potent version.

Spy photographers has spotted an even hotter R8 at the Nürburgring test track in Germany.
This prototype's side blades have a slight bulge just ahead of the rear wheel. This hints at a more powerful engine - and the most-likely engine for this beast is Audi's 5.2-litre V10, which is also doing duty in the S6 and S8.
The standard R8 comes with the RS4's 309 kW V8.
This V10 develops 331 kW in the S8, but it could be tweaked to thrust out even more in the R8.
