The third generation Audi A6 facelift has been snapped by spy photographers.
Having been on the market since 2005, the A6 range is fast approaching mid-life, and a facelift was imminent to see the range through to 2010.
The styling tweaks have borrowed detailing from across the Audi range.
The characteristic, oversized Audi grille has been given larger lower left- and right-hand air intakes housing rectangular fog lamps, whilst the front grille itself has fewer horizontal slats and features a 'grille-mounted' number plate borrowed from the new RS6.
LED lights, a key aspect of contemporary Audi design as seen in the A4, A5 and R8, have been incorporated into the rear tail lights, allowing especially strong nighttime and foul-weather illumination under braking.
Front LED daytime driving lights - similar to the A4 and A5 - are allegedly part of the restyling too, but the dark tone of the car captured by spy-photographers have made positively identifying the suspected location of the LED driving lights in the lower bumper difficult.
