Audi is queuing up its Q3 to rival the all-new BMW X1. The newcomer will join Audi’s SUV line-up, which already consists of the Q5 and Q7.
Audi’s new compact SUV will be based on the Coupe Quattro concept from the 2007 Shanghai Motor Show, but it will also share its styling cues with that of the Q5.
Furthermore the Q3 will share its underpinnings with the VW Tiguan, while both two and four-wheel drive versions will be available.
Engine choices are likely to include a 2.0-litre TDI turbodiesel as well as the 2.0-litre TFSI unit from the Golf GTI.
The Q3 will be produced at SEAT’s Martorelli plant in Barcelona from 2011.
