The Italian carmaker already have the Panda 4x4, but the Sedici is slightly bigger. It is 4.12m long and 1.62m wide, making it a bit bigger than the new Grande Punto.
The Sedici name comes from the number 16 - four multiplied by four (4x4) is sixteen.
Under the bonnet there is a 78kW 1.6-litre petrol engine or a 1.9 JTD turbodiesel unit.
According to Fiat the new Sedici will be more than capable to tackle decent off-road driving too.
This new baby SUV is the result of a joint project between Suzuki, Fiat and Lancia, and all three will launch their own models.
Fiat SA spokesperson Clynton Yon told Wheels24 that no decision has been taken yet if the Sedici will go on sale here.
