This year already saw the introduction of new Nissan products such as the Pathfinder, Murano and Navara.
But more new Nissans are to come in 2006, and the only model to stay the same is the tried and trusted 1400 Champ bakkie.
First to arrive will be the 4x4 derivatives of the Navara pick-up. These 4x4s will be launched very early in 2006 and will be available with the Pathfinder's 2.5 dCi and 4.0 V6 engines.
A new Nissan drop-top based on the Micra will go on sale too in the first half of the year. The Micra coupe-cabriolet features a retractable hard-top roof and will rival cars such as the Peugeot 206cc.
Nissan is also to launch a pick-up derivative of its Patrol here. This heavy-duty 4x4 is aimed at the Toyota LandCruiser bakkie.
However, the biggest product change for the carmaker will be the arrival of the new Almera, which will be based on Nissan's new Tiida.
Nissan executives recently told Wheels24 that the all-new Almera will be launched at the end of next year and that the arrival of this important model will shun the dull image of the current Almera.
