Family 'confident' of Schumi recovery

BERLIN, Germany - Michael Schumacher's family remains confident about the former Formula 1 driver's future but isn't giving any new details about his condition.

A message from Schumacher's family posted on his official website Thursday (Nov 13) thanked fans and well-wishers "for facing this fight together with him and us. We remain confident and hope the best for Michael. Your strength is helping us to keep supporting him."

The statement gave no further details.

RECOVERING IN SWITZERLAND

The seven-time F1 champion suffered a serious head injury while skiing in France in December 2013 and his manager said in September 2014 that he had been released from a Swiss hospital to continue his recovery at home.

Schumacher's website was reactivated to mark the 20th anniversary of his first F1 title.
